Over the past decade, investment groups have been acquiring youth sports facilities — gyms, courts, pools — at an unprecedented rate. Too often, their playbook prioritizes extraction over excellence. Families face skyrocketing fees. Athletes compete in crowded, underinvested spaces. The magic gets lost.

Meanwhile, pay-to-play platforms flood the market with tools that monetize every touchpoint — from tryouts to team gear — further pricing out the families who need affordable access most.

Summit Sports is pushing back. We acquire and operate facilities with a different philosophy: one that puts athletes and families first. We preserve the culture and community that made these spaces special in the first place. We invest in equipment, coaching, and inclusivity. Because sports shouldn't be a luxury. They should be a right.

Built by someone who's been there

Jeremy Kane was a world-ranked swimmer who finished 5th at the Olympic Trials at just 17. He went on to become a Division 1 national champion. But at 20, he walked away from competitive swimming — burned out from the pressure and the grind.

That experience sparked a different passion. Jeremy spent the next 15 years founding and building elite volleyball clubs that became destinations for serious athletes and families. He watched first-hand what happens when you prioritize culture over profit, coaching over cutting corners, and community over extraction.

When Jeremy started looking at acquiring sports facilities, he met incredible owners — former athletes, coaches, parents who loved their sport and their communities. But he also saw the threat: investment firms treating youth sports like a commodity. He knew there had to be a better way.
